Sport Aberdeen is a registered charity committed to creating opportunities, inspiring people and changing lives through sport and physical activity.  

This means that we don’t pay bonuses or dividends to any shareholders and any surpluses we make are invested back into providing our services for the people who live and work in the city of Aberdeen.

We deliver sport and physical activity services on behalf of Aberdeen City Council. This includes:

We also work in conjunction with a range of other partners, including sports clubs, Police Scotland, NHS Scotland, sportscotland and National Governing Bodies of Sport.

To support and achieve the vision of Sport Aberdeen, it has established 7 Strategic Objectives, 5 of which directly link to the City’s Sport and Physical Activity Strategy, A Strategy for a more Active Aberdeen. Our strategic objectives are as follows:

Under each of these strategic objectives are detailed actions which will be undertaken during the next 3 years to support the achievement of the above. Progress is regularly reviewed and reported to the Board and to our main funding partner, Aberdeen City Council.
