Club Sport Aberdeen will be directed by the clubs, for the clubs. This body will provide a voice for sports clubs in Aberdeen that will have input at the top level of sport across the city through the Active Aberdeen Partnership(AAP).
Its purpose will not only be to provide the AAP with club input, but also to ensure that Aberdeen has safe, sustainable and supported clubs, using expertise from within the club network as well as from partners in the wider network. This will give Aberdeen’s clubs the ability to develop and grow their membership, workforce and structure to provide their members with the best possible experience of the sport.
Clubs will sign up to become part of Club Sport Aberdeen and although it will be part of SALSC (Scottish Association of Local Sports Councils) and supported by them, its priorities, direction and focus areas will be decided by the Club Sport Aberdeen Executive Committee. This Committee will be made up of Volunteers from its member clubs and supported by professional Officers from the wider Active Aberdeen Partnership including: Sport Aberdeen, Active Schools and Scottish Disability Sport working in collaboration towards a common goal of improving clubs in Aberdeen. The buy-in and ownership from the clubs is imperative to the success of Club Sport Aberdeen.
