Volunteers are a vital part of Active Schools and without them many activities would not be able to run, so we are always looking for new volunteers to help support existing activities or start new ones.
Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds such as teachers, parents, students and senior pupils and have different skills and experience. The main thing we look for is a willingness to get involved. Previous coaching experience and qualifications are welcome but support and training will be given to new volunteers.
Most volunteers do so on a weekly basis within their local school or area and this can be a commitment from as little as 1 hour per week.
To volunteer for Active Schools all volunteers must first complete our induction process, which includes;-
- Becoming e member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme
- Completing a short online training course in Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) and Child Protection
- Completing an online training course on Positive Coaching Scotland (PCS)
If you are interested in volunteering please email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact your local Active Schools Coordinator.
