Step out September

You're never far from an opportunity to get active with Sport Aberdeen. Find out more online today.

Have a stroll with us!

‘Step out September’ is an initiative to encourage individuals across Aberdeen to get active together through a week of local walks.

It is a partnership project between Walk Aberdeen, Aberdeen Sports Village, Aberdeen FC Community Trust, Aberdeen City Health & Social Care Partnership and Sport Aberdeen and forms part of ‘Stay Well Stay Connected’ – a group which exists to promote better health and wellbeing, develop meaningful community relationships, promote better inclusion and help reduce social isolation.

The social walks will take place from Monday 18th to Saturday 23rd September 2023, where you can connect with other people and enjoy exploring Aberdeen’s open spaces.

You don’t need any special equipment, just bring yourself, a jacket and wear your comfy shoes.

Each walk will last up to an hour and it’s not a race – we’ll walk at a pace everyone is comfortable with. The walks are free to attend and led by trained volunteer walk leaders.

Everyone is invited and welcome to take part, whether you hope to meet new people, improve your physical health and mental wellbeing, or simply to have fun then there’s a place for you.

Get involved

The timetable of walks is below and there’s no need to book, just pop along on the day and our friendly walk leaders will be ready to welcome you. If you have any questions, please contact us on SWSC@aberdeencity.gov.uk.

Don’t worry if you can’t attend this week, the walks marked with a * run weekly and you are welcome to pop along any time.

Together, let’s walk for wellbeing and have fun!
