Active Ageing

The Active Ageing Programme supports activities throughout the City aimed at helping you stay active, whatever your age.

 

Disability Sport

Sport Aberdeen is committed to community sport and has a range of opportunities for children and adults with disabilities or additional needs to participate in sports activities.

 

Healthy Active Minds

Sport Aberdeen in partnership with Aberdeen Mental Health & Wellness Network and NHS Grampian are offering FREE 12 week blocks of physical activity sessions to promote a healthy body for a healthy mind.  Led by friendly and experienced instructors, sessions will introduce participants to the wide range of activities on offer throughout Aberdeen City.

Your one-stop-shop for referral forms for Sport Aberdeen's health conditions exercise programmes.

 

Live Well - Classes

Live Well Classes are ideal for those looking to get more active.  The classes are low impact and tailored specifically to meet your needs by our experienced team of Health and Wellness Advisors who will provide support and information.

 

Live Well - Balance Problems

Stable & Able Groups; These groups are designed specially for those at risk of, or after a fall. Sport Aberdeen have developed these as part of our Active Ageing programme in Partnership with NHS Grampian. 

 

Live Well - Breathing Problems

Pulmonary Rehab Groups - physical activity classes for people with chronic lung conditions.

 

Live Well - Diabetes

These groups have been developed in partnership with NHS Grampian and Sport Aberdeen to help people with a diagnosis of diabetes to get more active and manage their condition better.

 

Move More Aberdeen

A range of groups to help people affected by cancer 'Move More' and feel good.

 

Walk Aberdeen

Health Walks are a national programme run by Paths for All and are designed to assist people to become more active through walking.

Active Lifestyles – A range of different volunteering opportunities are available:

Active Clubs has many links with sports clubs who are often looking for volunteers to help in a range of roles including coaching, admin, officiating and fundraising. There are also many opportunities to volunteer with the Active Ageing, Walk Aberdeen, Live Well and Disability Sport programmes.
