Other Aquatics Activities

Once your child has progressed through the learn to swim programme, there are a number of other activities available to suit different interests.
Rookie Lifesaving

Rookie lifesaving is aimed at 8–12 year-olds to provide a fun and safe way to learn lifesaving skills and water safety. It is a natural progression from formal swimming lessons and is now integrated into Scottish Swimming’s national plan for teaching swimming.

Children can join at any age from 8 upwards (Swim Skills 4 or above) and progress through the bronze, silver and gold levels. By age 12, children are ideally placed to continue on with their lifesaving activities and move onto the senior lifesaving and lifeguarding awards.

These lessons are a 50-week continuous programme, payable by monthly direct debit with a minimum contract of four months. There is a two-week break over the Christmas period.
