We challenge you to #getmoving every day in February! Even if you can only manage ten minutes there are so many benefits for your physical and mental wellbeing.
We have 10-20 minute workout videos for all abilities, read on to see which one is right for you.

I’ve become less active and don’t feel as stable as I used to

Active Lifestyles Level 1 – Chair Based exercise class. This session is for older adults or those who have become less active and spend a lot of time sitting.  These simple exercises can all be done seated or standing with a chair for support and will help you to build up strength, balance and confidence to go walking outside or complete household tasks.

You will need:

  • A sturdy chair
  • Clear space
  • Comfortable footwear

I am regularly active and want to maintain my fitness with low impact exercise

Active Lifestyles Level 2 – Resistance Band workout. This session is ideal for active older adults and uses a resistance band to help improve strength in your upper and lower body as well as developing overall fitness. 

Resistance bands are available online for around £3 or to request one please email activelifestyles@sportaberdeen.co.uk

I am regularly active and want to maintain my cardiovascular fitness

Active Lifestyles Level 3 – Cardio workout. This short, low impact home exercise class is designed for older adults and anyone who would like something a little lighter.

You will need:

  • Clear space
  • Comfortable footwear

I have done some fitness before but not for a while

15-minute Legs, Bums and Tums workout. Get back in the swing of things and tone up with this workout to challenge these specific areas.

You will need:

  • Clear space
  • Comfortable footwear

I am fit and regularly keeping active

15-minute strength and conditioning workout. If you are regularly doing some walking, running or cycling this workout will help you tone up and increase your whole-body strength.

You will need:

  • Clear space
  • Comfortable footwear
  • Water

I am fit and usually get active most days

15-minute HIIT workout. This challenging 15-minute HIIT workout is guaranteed get your heart rate up! Perfect for anyone wanting to improve their cardio fitness, stamina and muscle endurance.

You will need:

  • Water

10-minute stretch video

Ideal to help you stretch out after a workout or for a gentler option to #getmoving.
