Following thorough and very positive discussions with the three resident clubs at Kings Links Golf Course, Golf Aberdeen is pleased to confirm that it is making improvements to the Kings Links Course for the 2018 golfing season.

Part of the present 18-hole layout will be realigned to move away from the areas of the course that are persistently waterlogging. The changes, which have been influenced by club members, will see the 6- hole course incorporated into the 18-hole course returning to one of the original layouts, which will improve playability and the quality of golfing experience.

Keith Gerrard, Director of Operations & Asset Development added,

“We are grateful for the clubs’ support in helping to shape these changes. We see this as an important step to ensure that the course is less susceptible to closure and this is in direct response as we attempt to combat the increasingly wet weather which the whole golf sector in the North East has struggled to cope with in recent years.

“Kings Links challenge is also compounded by the course’s location close to the water table level. I am confident the redesign will be welcomed by all golfers and we anticipate that the realigned course will be open and fully operational for the new season in April 2018.”
