Colin Taylor Colin G. Taylor - Chairman Appointed Chairman in 2017, previously Vice Chairman since 2010; Colin Taylor was born in Aberdeen and is currently Dean of Guild for the City. Colin's active sporting involvement is in golf, snooker and cycling. He is a regular spectator at Pittodrie, where he is an active Aberdeen F.C. season ticket holder. Colin also holds a number of voluntary roles in organisations and charities across the city.
Anthony Dawson

Anthony Dawson -

Vice Chairman & Sub Committee Chairman

Appointed Vice Chairman in 2017, a Trustee Director and Sub Committee Chairman since 2012; Anthony Dawson is currently Senior Partner at J. & G. Collie & Co. and Burgess of Guild for the City of Aberdeen. He is a former holder of the Scottish and British University Badminton titles, won various Tennis titles and represented Scotland in both fields. He has held various public appointments and is currently Chairman of the Active Aberdeen Partnership. In 2007, his sporting achievements were recognised by the Aberdeen Sporting Hall of Fame.

Gordon Edwards Gordon Edwards - Sub Committee Chairman

Appointed 2012. A former Corporate Director for Resources Management in local government.  Gordon Edwards currently services on a number of Trusts and Boards in both the public and private sectors, including Grampian Housing Association and Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations (ACVO).  He is also a Trustee of a national Third Sector Pension Fund. Gordon completed a postgraduate certificate in coaching in 2012 and provides coaching, mentoring and financial advice to a range of organisations.

Appointed in 2012; Paul Adderton is a former Television Producer / Director with ITV. He has worked on and covered a number of sporting events in his professional career such as Football, Shinty, Hockey, Boxing and Swimming. For ten years he managed the Multi Media Centre at Aberdeen College holding a teaching qualification in Further Education. A follower of Test Cricket, having once been an amateur player for a local team, he now spends his spare time rifle shooting and angling; an active committee member of Aberdeen and District Angling Association.

Alistair Robertson Alistair Robertson - Managing Director

Appointed in 2012; Alistair Robertson is currently the Managing Director of the Sport Aberdeen.  He had a brief spell with the Scottish Sports Council in the late 1980's before moving to England where he held a variety of positions in sport and recreation management.  He was the Head of Recreation and Cultural Services for a Metropolitan Council in Merseyside and has been involved in a number of Strategic Sports Agency committees and panels which have helped to influence and shape the direction of sport in the NW of England.  He also served for 6 years as a National Trustee Director on the Board of the UK's foremost Leisure Management Institute, as well as chairing its NW Region's Executive Committee.

Moyra Cowie

Moyra Cowie -

Trustee Director

Appointed in 2015; Moyra Cowie is a former Lecturer in Sport at Aberdeen College and presently a Director of Basketball Scotland.  Her career has included a variety of roles in Sports and Event Management within the Aberdeen City & Shire area and has held Fellow with Diploma membership with the Chartered Institute of Management of Sport and Physical Activity since 2010, and has a keen personal interest in basketball and volunteering.

Alan Forsyth -

Appointed in 2015; Alan Forsyth is presently a Director of Health Safety and Environmental Management within the subsea sector of the Offshore industry.  Having raised his two children in the City of Aberdeen he has been actively involved in supporting the various sporting clubs his family have been associated with. Alan is still heavily involved in sport and is an advocate for clubs creating and maintaining pathways through their respective sports to allow all individuals to participate as a lifestyle choice. 

Hugh Black

Hugh Black -

Trustee Director

Appointed in 2017; Hugh Black was born and educated in Aberdeen. Trained as a quantity surveyor with the district council’s city architect’s department, Hugh has run his own business for 21 years in the onshore construction industry.

In 2010, he acquired Rubislaw Quarry, one of the most famous landmarks in Aberdeen, with the vision is to create a unique and iconic visitor centre to celebrate Aberdeen’s granite heritage. Other than granite, Hugh enjoys time with family and friends, holidays and most sports, particularly football and golf.

John Cooke -

Trustee Director

Appointed in 2017; John Cooke was first elected to Aberdeen City Council representing the Hazlehead, Queens Cross & Countesswells Ward, in May 2017.

His career includes holding senior public policy/regulatory roles in the telecoms, pharmaceutical, and financial services sectors, mainly in a blue-chip environment. He has also chaired a Scottish Government Committee concerned with attracting and retaining inward investment.

He is an avid sports fan, being a passionate supporter of Scotland’s rugby and football teams, and a fan of Partick Thistle FC and Manchester United.

Gordon Graham -

Trustee Director

Appointed in 2017; Gordon is a former, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Manager of an Offshore Oil Service Company with over 25 years experience. 

A Councillor for 18 years he has serves on various Trusts and Boards in the public sector.

He is  involved in sports such as football and golf and is a founder member of Auchmill Golf Club, he is a past Captain and is currently Secretary, he is a level 2 coach and teaches golf to juniors at the club and local schools.

Brett Hunt -

Trustee Director

Appointed in 2017; Brett serviced 13 years in the Royal Air Force, completing 2 tours in Iraq and 3 tours in Afghanistan. After his military career Brett moved to Aberdeen taking an engineering position in the Oil and Gas industry, after some time in Moscow, Russia and Africa he is now Area Manager for Europe, Russia and Africa.

Brett used to play amateur Ice Hockey in the military is an avid gym goer and still enjoys snowboarding, skydiving and driving the North Coast 500.
