Bowling Greens

Bowling is available at four bowling greens across Aberdeen with a Sport Aberdeen bowling season pass:

Albury Bowling Green is also available – contact Albury Community Sports Hub for further information.

How to book

Bowling Green Access – Get active @ Westburn

Please enter the bowling greens via the side gate next to the building. The gate will be open when there is a booking.

If you arrive and the gate is closed, please visit the Aberdeen Tennis Centre reception around the corner, and a member of staff will open it for you.

Bowling equipment including mats, jacks and so on will be situated in a trolley at the back of the building – please feel free to help yourself and return after use.

Regular monitoring of the Get active @ Westburn complex is primarily led by staff based at Aberdeen Tennis Centre. Should bowling users require additional support, a staff member will be present and available to assist.

Building access

Bowling customers are welcome to use the facilities at Aberdeen Tennis Centre, including:

  • Café space for social use – tables, chairs and sofas
  • Changing room and toilets
  • Hot/cold drinks and snacks are available for purchase
  • Reception desk for staff support/any queries

During bowling times, you may enter the Get active @ Westburn building through the front door to use the Accessible Toilet or collect items stored in the foyer. The front door is operated with a number lock – this code can be obtained from Aberdeen Tennis Centre reception. Please make sure the door is always fully closed behind you.

Lockers will be available at the Westburn Lounge – please talk to a member of staff at the lounge or at Aberdeen Tennis Centre.

Our venues are home to a number of different bowling clubs. If you are interested in joining a club please feel free to come along during the bowling season to speak with our bowlers about their club.

Disability Sport – Annual Scottish Disability Lawn Bowls

Bowling Pass

Bowling Pass

The bowling pass will be available to purchase online or from Aberdeen Tennis Centre or Get active @ Northfield from 1 April 2024. Please note that passes bought online can be collected from either Aberdeen Tennis Centre or Get active @ Northfield

The bowling season begins on Saturday 13 April – Sunday 29 September 2024.

The cost of a season pass is £40.

The bowling greens are available to Sport Aberdeen bowling season pass holders and their guests; however, you must book in advance. To book, please call the team at Aberdeen Tennis Centre (01224 507748) or Get active @ Northfield (01224 214494) and the team will be happy to help you.

Non-members must be accompanied by a member and pay a ‘guest fee’ of £3.70 each time they play. This can be paid by card at the Aberdeen Tennis Centre reception.
