Active Schools are running some taster sessions for P7 pupils coming to Cults Academy after the summer.

We have planned a range of one-off taster sessions where pupils can meet P7s from other schools interested in the same activities. It is also a great opportunity to get to try out some of the facility spaces at Cults Academy and to meet some of the volunteers who take the Academy clubs – teachers, senior pupils and club volunteers. Sessions are open to all ability levels and no previous experience is required.

Sports on offer for 2025 P7 Transition Programme:

Badminton – Thursday 12th June (sports hall)

Hockey – Friday 13th June (astro)

Football – Monday 16th June (astro)

Netball (girls only) – Tuesday 17th June (sports hall)

Basketball – Monday 23rd June (sports hall)

Volleyball – Thursday 26th June (sports hall)

All sessions will run from 3.45-4.45pm to allow pupils travelling from further away schools to make it along. If you think you’ll arrive after 3.45pm, you are still very welcome to sign up and join in once you have arrived. Equipment will also be provided for pupils who require it at sessions. I’m aware that there may be some clashes with P7 trips / activities – the dates that are in the diary for our P7 events are based on staff and volunteer availability.

There are lots of sports clubs that take place at Cults Academy which are open to S1s and there will be opportunities for new S1s to get involved with these after the summer. Other sports clubs which take place through the year which pupils can get involved with are Cricket, Table Tennis, Active Girls Club, Rugby and Futsal.

There are no costs to attend these sessions, but it is important that you sign up and select the activities you wish to attend in case there are any last minute changes or cancellations that need to be communicated to families.
