Design the outfits of our new mascots Dee and Don!

Dee the Red Squirrel
Named after the River Dee, Dee embodies the spirit of agility, energy, and adaptability, much like the squirrel itself. A native of the Scottish Highlands, the red squirrel is energetic, resourceful, and quick on its feet. Dee’s character will resonate with children and families, symbolising the fun, adventurous, and active nature of our programs and events.
Don the Highland Bull
Named after the River Don, Don represents strength, fairness, and authority. The Highland Bull is a symbol of power and steadfastness. Don emphasises the importance of fair play and leadership, while still maintaining a connection to our local heritage.

You can join the fun and design their outfits!
With the launch of our new mascots, we are excited to announce a Kids’ design competition for primary schools across Aberdeen. The competition will challenge students to design their own Sport Aberdeen kit for Dee and Don.
Both Kits Should:
- Reflect the core values of Sport Aberdeen, including inclusivity, fun, and encouraging physical activity.
- Inspire others to get active.
- Leave space on the sleeve for a sponsor logo (We are hopeful to partner with a local sponsor for Dee and Don!).
The winning entry will receive an exciting prize: a day out for their class at Sport Aberdeen’s Adventure Site at Kingswells!*
Entries can be submitted by email to marketingteam@sportaberdeen.co.uk or by handing it in to one of venues! Ensure that the designer’s name, age, and school are included on the sheet. Please note the competition closes at the end of July and the winners will be announced in August!
Terms and conditions
*Activity will depend on age and size of class, up to a maximum of 33 pupils. Some activities may be ability-restrictive, but we will endeavour to work together to make this as accessible as possible.
