Active Schools are running some taster sessions for P7 pupils coming to Cults Academy after the summer.

We have planned a range of one-off taster sessions where pupils can meet other P7s from other schools interested in the same activities. It is also a great opportunity to get to try out some of the facility spaces at Cults Academy and to meet some of the volunteers who take the Academy clubs – teachers, senior pupils and club volunteers. Sessions are open to all ability levels and no previous experience is required.

All sessions (apart from netball) will run from 3.45-4.45pm to allow pupils travelling from further away schools to make it along. If you think you’ll arrive after 3.45pm, you are still very welcome to sign up and join in once you have arrived. Equipment will also be provided for pupils who require it at sessions. I’m aware that there is unfortunately a clash for Cults Primary pupils away on their activities residential 17th/18th June – these were the only available dates for football and basketball due to Academy staff availability.

Football – Monday 17th June (astro)

Basketball – Tuesday 18th June (sports hall)

Netball (girls only) – Friday 21st June (sports hall) – 4.45pm start

Active Girls (girls only) – Monday 24th June (sports hall)

Rugby – Tuesday 25th June (rugby pitch)

Volleyball – Wednesday 26th June (sports hall)

Hockey – (astro) – Thursday 27th June (astro)

Active Girls is a club for S1-3 girls and runs different activities each week – at the taster session, girls will get to take part in a variety of activities such as dodgeball.

There are other sports clubs that take place at Cults Academy (such as badminton and table tennis) and there will be opportunities for new S1s to get involved with these after the summer.

There are no costs to attend these sessions, but it is important that you sign up and select the activities you wish to attend in case there are any last minute changes or cancellations that need to be communicated to families.
