Community Sport - Aberdeen Cycling Opportunities
Community Cycling in Aberdeen
Developing community cycling in Aberdeen City, a Project Activator (funded by Scottish Cycling’s World Championships 2023 Community Cycling Fund) has been embedded in the Community Sport Team.

Working in partnership with existing cycling groups, agencies, and charities within the city, Active Schools, and Adventure Aberdeen, the Project Activator links community groups (focusing on areas ranking highly on the SIMD scale and under-presented groups) to cycling opportunities – facilitating access to cycling where it may not otherwise be possible.
Scottish Cycling Rock Up and Ride Communities Project
- Providing an accessible pathway to recreational cycling.

Grampian Inclusive Cycling Bothies (GICB)
Grampian Inclusive Cycling Bothies run free adapted cycling sessions in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. These take place in traffic free environments and participants are welcome to cycle as much or as little as they like. We welcome everyone to come along to try our adapted bikes regardless of age or ability. Our sessions are led by qualified ride leaders who can provide support and advice to help you find the bike best suited for your needs.
Our sessions currently run at Aberdeen Cycle Hub @ Seaton; Catto Park Athletics Track, Peterhead; and the Deveron Community and Sports Centre, Banff. We are also developing new bothy locations around Grampian. Check out our Facebook page for weekly session details.
You can sign up for sessions using Eventbrite (apart from Peterhead which runs as a drop in session).
All ages & all abilities welcome. Sessions run by Grampian Disability Sport Volunteers.
