Hazlehead Pines << Main Golf Page Customer Announcement – Hazlehead Pines Full course will be in operation from Monday 29th of October 2018 at 9am. A little bit more forgiving than some of the other courses in Golf Aberdeen’s portfolio – particularly off the tee – the Pines is more open and was revamped in the early 1970s by Brian Huggett, Neil Coles and Roger Dyer. Described as a “fair test of golf”, you can bask in some great views of the city from the 12th tee and the green on the 17th. The Pines course offers a gentler challenge than its big sister the MacKenzie Championship course. It is shorter at 5735 yards Par 67 but most of its fairways are tree-lined and there is a good variety of holes with six par 3s and one par 5. The fairways are generous and the large greens inviting but watch out for the numerous bunkers well placed around the course. At its the highest points on the 12th and 17th you are awarded with stunning panoramas of the city of Aberdeen, its busy harbour and the expanse of the North Sea beyond. As well as this, we expect all golfers to follow standard golf etiquette. Read more Standard golf etiquette: Arrive on Time. Endeavour to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled tee time to ensure you are ready to go at the correct time. Avoid Slow Play When your group is not keeping up with the pace of play of the group in front of you, allow groups behind you to play through at an appropriate time if they wish to move quicker. Although mobile phones are not banned on the course, we do not recommend that you use your phone whilst playing as this may cause slow play and may result in an accident. Help to Maintain the Course Replace all divots. Use soil/seed mixture provided on the tee to fill in the divots that cannot be replaced directly (Hazlehead Pines). Rake bunkers once you have played your shot – removing all footprints. Repair all pitch marks When on the green, do not stand where you might distract fellow players. Do not make any noise when your fellow players are preparing to take their shot. Miscellaneous: Never hit when there is a chance that you may hit another golfer or member of the public. If your shot looks like it may hit anyone on the course, you should shout “fore” immediately. Abusive language and angry outbursts are not acceptable therefore you should keep your temper under control at all times. Be aware of the people around you as well as fellow players as this may make some uneasy. Be aware of green staff and golf marshalls on the course. Alert any staff in your view before taking your shot. Dress Code At Golf Aberdeen we do not have a formal dress code for golfers to adhere to whilst on the course. We do however ask that our golfers dress appropriately and with respect to other players. We advise that appropriate footwear is worn whilst on the course to provide safety and protection in differing weather conditions.
