Swim Skills Intensive Courses

Available for school-age children, and Adult beginners.

An intensive week-long learn to swim course for school-age children and Adult beginners with a 45-minute session each day Monday-Friday at Get active @ Cults (Monday-Thursday Week 1).  Group classes and a limited number of One to One * classes are available. * One to One classes are 30 minutes.

Class Levels
Swim Skills 1 (A and B)

Aim:

To develop water confidence and core aquatic skills without aids.

Objectives:

  • Develop confidence and ability to perform a wide range of core aquatic skills without buoyancy aids
  • Develop the basic technique of the four strokes
  • Introduce the basic technique of sculling
  • Develop balance and buoyancy through a variety of activities.
Swim Skills 2 (A and B)

Aim:

To increase the competency of the core aquatic skills and develop basic stroke technique.

Objectives:

  • Introduce and progress new core aquatic skills
  • Develop stroke technique to include all four strokes
  • Introduction to diving (pool permitting)
  • Develop awareness and feel for the water through a variety of core aquatic skills.
Swim Skills 3

Aim:

Introduce more advanced stroke technique and achieve Triple S standard.

Objectives:

  • Further develop competency in all four strokes
  • Development of diving
  • Further develop butterfly and breaststroke aiming to achieve legal technique
Older Beginners

An intensive week-long learn to swim course for beginners aged 8-12 years.

Objectives:

  • Develop confidence and ability to perform a wide range of core aquatic skills without buoyancy aids
  • Develop the basic technique of the four strokes
  • Introduce the basic technique of sculling
  • Develop balance and buoyancy through a variety of activities.
Adult Beginner

An intensive week-long learn to swim course for Adult beginners aged 16 years and above.

These lessons are great for adults who have never had the opportunity to learn to swim, have limited swimming ability, or are afraid of the water. The focus is on building confidence in the water and moving on to improving stroke technique.’

One to One

Our One to One Swimming Lessons are intensive, private sessions designed to fast-track progress and build confidence in the water.

Lessons run daily, Monday to Friday (Monday to Thursday Week 1), with a 30-minute session each day. Each child is taught individually by one dedicated teacher, allowing the lesson to be fully tailored to their ability and goals. One to One teaching offers focused feedback, constant attention, and a learning pace that suits your child.
