#Getactive for 30 minutes – ideal for busy parents!

13.7.22

When a single day goes by so quickly, there’s no doubt that it can be difficult to find time to #Getactive. Busy schedules and growing to do lists mean that certain things take priority, and sometimes exercise can fall by the wayside.

The good news, however, is that 30 minutes of exercise per day is enough time to set aside to help you realistically work towards achieving your fitness goals.

There are so many benefits of getting active – whether it’s a 30 minute fitness class, a quick gym workout or even a steady stroll through the park, regular exercise is absolutely key to improving your physical and mental wellbeing.

Our fantastic Get active 2 membership provides you with access to all our fitness venues and classes across the city, for only £28 per month.

Check out our ideas below for some inspiration on how you can fit 30 minutes of activity into your day – ideal if you are a busy parent with limited time on your hands!

Fitness Classes

We have over 100 fitness classes every week including many 30 minute options. These classes offer a short, sharp HIIT-style workout to maximise the results you get in a short space of time.

HIIT Step

This new and innovative class will push you to the limit with an intense 30 minute combo of bodyweight exercises, using only a step.

Indoor Cycling

This fitness class will test your cardiovascular endurance through a series of hill climbs and sprints on our brand-new static bikes!

Circuits

Our classic circuits class targets every key muscle group and tests your stamina. This is ideal if you can only make it along to the gym a couple of times per week, and will ensure every part of your body is worked out.

You can use our live interactive timetable to browse and book any of our fitness classes here.

Quick Gym Workouts

Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to spend hours in the gym to make progress. You can make massive strides towards your goals by spending less than an hour working out, a couple of times per week. Why not give one of our upper/lower body workouts a go – they’re great for working up a quick sweat!

If you need some help getting started in the gym or are looking to shake things up and add a new dimension to your usual workout plan, then members can book in for a FREE fitness consultation. This will see one of our Health and Wellbeing Coordinators taking the time to understand what your aspirations are and what you aim to get out of your fitness plan. Your plan will be tailored to your own personal fitness goals, and will help to keep you motivated, accountable and on track!

#Getactive

A simple way of working towards your fitness goals is to be more active. You don’t need to spend hours in the gym or attend a new fitness class weekly. A gentle stroll around the park for 30 minutes is enough to elevate your heart rate. Being more active is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint too – next time you need to pop out to the shop, why not leave the car at home and take a walk instead!

Home Workouts

If you’re really struggling to find time, you can still get a decent workout from the comfort of your own home. A 15 minute yoga session as the dinner is cooking or after the kids have gone to bed is doable – every effort counts and makes a difference towards your overall fitness goals.

We also have a huge selection of workouts you can access on our YouTube channel, a lot of which requires little or no equipment – perfect for working out at home.

We have everything from Legs, Bums and Tums and HIIT sessions, to Stretch and Relax sessions and a the Pyramid Challenge, so there is something suitable for everyone. These workouts can be found on our Get active @ Home playlist.

We hope you feel inspired to find a spare 30 minutes in your day at a time which suits you to #Getactive – if you’re not already a member and would like to try out the gym or one of our fitness classes, then sign up for a free guest pass today.
