Ideas to help you stay active with Sport Aberdeen this winter

23.11.23

As the nights draw in and the weather deteriorates, the thought of getting out to walk, run, or cycle can become far less appealing.

A night on the sofa to enjoy some TV might be the more tempting option, but it’s important to remember the benefits of daily exercise for our physical and mental wellbeing.

So, instead of hibernating for the winter, why not stay connected, remain active and learn new skills by taking part in the many activities across our Sport Aberdeen venues.

We’ve compiled a list of what’s on offer below, providing something for everyone, no matter your age or fitness level.

Junior and Teen Fitness Classes

Our exciting new junior and teen fitness class timetable launched on 13 November and is already proving to be a great way for young people to have fun and get active in a class-based environment.  Children aged 5 and up can build strength and improve fitness in programmes we’ve designed specifically for each age group. Click here to book a class.

We have over 100 fitness classes available every week across our venues, these can be viewed and booked through our online interactive timetable here.

Padel Tennis

A fun and engaging sport that combines elements of tennis and squash, padel is a unique new game to Aberdeen that’s played under cover on an enclosed court with walls, making it the ideal sport for the winter months.  Find out more and how to book a class or a court here.

Get out of the rain and into the water!

Visit one of our five swimming pools across the city where you can enjoy public or family swimming sessions. Each venue has a varied timetable to offer something to suit your needs.
